The Du Tourist SIM Card is available to buy at Dubai airports and local stores in Dubai. After buying a Du Tourist SIM Card, it is mandatory to activate Du Tourist SIM within 14 days. 1. After inserting the Du Tourist SIM in your mobile, you will receive an SMS message from 1220.
2. Open the SMS and read it, it is asking you to verify your birth year as mentioned on your passport.
3. You need to reply this SMS with your birth year and it is free of cost.
4. If your date of birth is 16-July 1998 as per your passport then you should reply the SMS with 1998 and send it to 1220.
5. After replying the SMS, soon you will receive another SMS showing that the verification is successful and your Du Tourist SIM is Activated now.

Activate Du Tourist SIM via USSD Code

You can also do your Du Tourist SIM Activation with help of the USSD Code. You need to dial *122# and follow the on-screen instructions to activate your Du SIM Card.

June 2023 Update: The Du Tourist SIM Activation Process was done by passport number earlier. But the company has made it easier now. You just need to enter your date of birth as given in your passport to activate your Du Tourist SIM via USSD code.

Here I provide the step-by-step guideline for you.

1. Insert the Du Tourist SIM Card in your mobile phone.
2. Dial *122# and tap on call button, then wait for a popup message.
3. Choose your preferred language, enter 1 for Arabic or 2 for English.
4. Now, enter your Date of Birth as mentioned on your passport.
5. Select send option to continue.
6. Confirm your Date of Birth to proceed.
7. A new popup message will show that your request for activation is in progress, you will receive an SMS shortly.

On completion of above process, you need to wait for 1-2 minutes. Then you will receive an SMS from Du showing that your Du Tourist SIM is activated and you can enjoy using it without any interruption.

How to Get a Free Du Tourist SIM

A Free Du Tourist SIM is available for all tourists landing at Dubai Airports including all terminals of Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).

When your flight lands at Dubai and you arrive at Passport Control in Dubai Airport, you can ask for your complimentary Du Tourist SIM. It comes with free 1GB high speed internet data that you can use immediately after inserting the SIM in your mobile phone.
