As shown in above map, you can see that Dubai Metro Red Line has 35 Metro Stations, while the Green Line has 20 Metro Stations. The Union and BurJuman are interchange Metro Stations where Red Line and Green Line cross each other’s way. These two stations are common in both the Metro Lines.

Dubai Metro Beginning and Growth

The Roads & Transport Authority launched Dubai Metro in September 2009. In the beginning, only Red Line was started with a limited Metro Stations. After two years, in 2011, the RTA launched Green Line and added 18 more stations to the Red Line.

By March 2014, the RTA was operating 29 Metro Stations on Red Line and 20 Metro Stations on Green Line. Then it started working on extending the Red Line towards Expo Area. In 2021, the RTA launched six more stations on Red Line.

The Expo 2020 New Extension was a big step by Dubai Metro. It helped to connect the Expo area with other major parts of Dubai with the most common rapid transit system. Now, people living in Dubai can travel around 50+ Metro Stations at a nominal fare and fulfill their daily travel needs easily.

Dubai Metro Blue Line Project 2029

The Dubai Metro Map shown above shows Red Line and Green Line details but the Blue Line is not added to the map. The RTA Authority has already started working on Dubai Metro Blue Line Project. The construction is started and it will be ready by 2029.

The Blue Line will have 14 Metro Stations that will cover the areas that are not reached yet by Red Line and Green Line.

Dubai Metro Rail Network Coverage

The Dubai Metro has two different routes called Red Line and Green Line. The Red Line is spread in 67 kilometers and 35 Metro Stations. It has two rail tracks, so two Metro Trains can run simultaneously on Dubai Metro Red Line. The Red Line starts from Centrepoint/Rashidiya and ends at UAE Exchange, while its extension ends at Expo 2020 Metro Station.

The Dubai Metro Green Line is spread in 22.5 kilometers and it has 20 Metro Stations. The Green Line starts from Etisalat/E& Metro Station and it ends at Creek Metro Station.

If I combine the total rail network coverage of Dubai Metro in 2025, it is almost 90 kilometers with all major areas covered by it. The Blue Line is going to add 14 Metro Stations and 30 kilometers of extended coverage in Dubai Metro Network in near future.

Dubai Metro Operating Hours

As per RTA Timetable, the Dubai Metro Service starts in the early morning at 5:00 AM and it remains active till 12:00 AM midnight. On Friday Night, the Metro remains active till 1:00 AM and on Sunday, it starts late at 8:00 AM. Here I provide Dubai Metro Operating Hours 2025 as under_

Dubai Metro Frequency

The Dubai Metro Trains are set on automated system and the Metro Frequency is same at all Metro Stations in Dubai.

During peak hours, you can get a Metro in every 3:45 minutes (3 minutes & 45 seconds). On the other hand, during non-peak hours, the Metro is available in every 7 minutes.
